#SAMPLETANK 3 SE REVIEW PROFESSIONAL#
No matter whether a song calls for world percussion or a more standard drum kit, SampleTank 3 SE's MIDI engine produces professional sounding results every time. It's a powerful tool that makes it easy to build killer rhythm tracks thanks to SampleTank 3 SE's library of over 250 loops and 150 MIDI patterns recorded by some of the finest drummers and percussionists in the world. SampleTank 3 SE also supports user sample import as well as the use of legacy Powered-by-SampleTank libraries.Īs in the full version, users get full access to SampleTank 3's new built-in MIDI engine. All this means that SampleTank 3 SE's pianos, drums, basses, guitars, synthesizers, brass, strings, vocals and other more exotic sounds shine brightly and stand out in any mix with little-to-no adjustment required. And just like in the full version, users will be able to take advantage of SampleTank 3's multiple articulations and new "round-robin" feature to inject a lifelike expressiveness to their playing with many of the available sounds. With SampleTank 3 SE, users get a taste of the 4,000 instruments available in the full version via 400 carefully selected, meticulously sampled instruments from 20 categories that stretch across every genre, style and type. I will give 5 stars for value and 4 stars for overall quality (those Sovtek 6922 tubes are no good at all). The reason SampleTank has remained an industry standard after all these years is due to the superior quality and sheer amount of sounds it offers. With proper system matching, PH3 will give you hours of listening pleasures. For your system, Apmerex tubes with PH3 might just workout. I used Siemens NOS tubes over Amperex 7308 NOS tubes a) Siemens have much tighter base than Amperex b) Siemens are less bright compared to the Amperex NOS tubes (I've Thiel 3.6 speakers which tend to be a tad bright and did not want bright tubes in the up stream). This unit will give more in return for the money than anything I've heard. If you love LPs and looking for a phono-amp, Audio Research PH3 is recommended without any reservations. These tubes also improved the highes i.e., they sound more natural and extended, does not make you tired. Now I find the base to be deeper and tighter, midrange tonal accuracy and presentation to be first class. Actually, a technician at AR made the suggestion. Recently, I replaced the Sovtek 6922 tubes with Siemens 7308 NOS tubes. Bass is not bad, but not the ultimate and high are to the polite side, but natural. Since then I have been very pleased with the results.
#SAMPLETANK 3 SE REVIEW UPGRADE#
However, I noticed that the Platinum cartridge had some difficulties tracking the inner grooves and I decided to upgrade the cartridge to a Benz LO.4. This was done at the factory with minimum cost to the user. I used it with a Grado Reference PlatimunĬartridge and had to reduce the gain to 40dB (from 54dB). I am not sure if many of you know, but this is a one great At this price point, it would be hard to beat the bang for the buck and value GSNC breathes into the AR PH3. Nice, even, quick, full, solid mid's and clearn crisp highs, base is just what it should be, as the artist/mixer intended.

Andy talked to my level, asked a few questions, then promply suggested the matched tubes burning now.) Over a year later, the upgraded PH3 came back to him on a trade in, and he was correct - this is a quantum jump over the SP9 ii. Felt it would not deliver what I was looking for. Steve was very kind with his time, and after a bit of discussion, convinced me not to send my AR SP9 ii for him to upgrade. (Note: Both Steve and Andy run companies that place a high priority on helping the customer. Currenty running with Amperex NOS ecc88's from Andy at Vintage Tubes. Steve and his gang of hifi craftman, bring the PH3 to the SE level - and beyond. This is the Great Northern Sound Company (GSNC) Reference Mod.
